MY STRENGTHS

Influence

I'm passionate about what I do and believe that leaders are more successful with an approach of encouragement and support. Before a leader can be successful in executing on ideas and implementing the change to transform the organization, they must first have a strong team that is committed to the mission, vision and values of the organization. Building rapport, active listening, mentoring, committing to my team and leading by example creates great teams committed to the mission and vision of the organization. This is the approach that has contributed to the successes in the programs and organizations I have had the opportunity to lead.

Execution

I believe that to move ideas into action, leaders need to be effective at selecting strategic goals that will advance results. Ensuring success in execution means teams need to drive lead measures that can influence outcomes and result in achievement of the goals. Leaders need to engage teams in a way that keeps the lead measures, goals and outcomes in the spotlight while highlighting wins at frequent intervals. With focus, influence, engagement, celebration of successes, and accountability, program improvements and change can be successful.
Failure to execute strategies successfully are a result of vague strategic goals, focusing on the outcome and not the measures that will achieve the outcome, ineffective management, lack of leadership, and poor implementation. To ensure successful execution of change, leaders must be intentional, deliberate and disciplined in their approaches. Without a disciplined and deliberate approach, even great ideas are often left on the table never to be implemented.

Transformation

I like to drive successful transformation in the programs I lead. Execution is only one part of successful organizational change. Continued support must be provided to ensure change initiatives lead to the intended transformation within the organization. Leaders need to understand resistant to change and convert that resistance to willingness. A transformative leader is successful when they understand how to foster and facilitate change initiatives. Transformation requires a leader who can develop trust and respect, support learning, growth and development, communicate effectively, act as role model and empower people to accomplish and sustain the change that will lead to transformation within the organization. Creating opportunities for small successes along the way, supporting stakeholders and staff along with flexibly and patience is essential in moving change initiatives that truly transform the organization. I am proud of my track record of leading successful lasting change in the organizations that I have led.
